I am Dominik Dedat, founder of MEA LAETUS.

The idea for this fashion label came from a genuine desire for freedom – to get out of the 9-to-5 job and into a life that feels like me.


MEA LAETUS is more than just a brand; it is the result of my own journey towards independence, creativity, and the realization of my vision.


MEA LAETUS is not just about fashion, but about expressing personality and self-determination. I wanted to create a brand that is authentic, that embodies exactly what I live by: a clear focus on quality, freedom, and individuality.

MEA LAETUS roughly translates to "My joy / My happiness". And that is exactly what the brand is meant to convey: joy, self-determination, the zest for life – and the art of wearing exactly what reflects this feeling. For me, fashion is a canvas. An expression of personality. And sometimes also the beginning of a conversation, a compliment, a connection.
What inspires me? Holidays, art, sports – in short: everything that is fun and connects people. A solo trip to Rome was particularly formative – my first flight, my step out of my comfort zone. This journey has shown me what incredible experiences and opportunities await you if you simply have the courage to take new paths. Whether I'm strolling through Rome, admiring the art in the Vatican, or surfing in Lisbon – such places are more than just backdrops for me. They are an expression of a feeling for life and a source of inspiration.

Inspiration for the fashion label

The idea behind MEA LAETUS is deeply rooted in my love of art , travel , and the freedom to shape my own life. Every place I visit—be it the impressive art museum in Rome, the vibrant cityscape of Lisbon, or the waves on the coast of Portugal—leaves impressions that influence my creative process. These journeys are more than just vacation destinations for me; they are sources of inspiration that help me feel the pulse of the world and reflect it in my work.

Art has the unique ability to transform thoughts and feelings into forms that stimulate the viewer's reflection. This dynamic, which I experience in museums and galleries, flows into the designs of MEA LAETUS. Each piece is meant not only to be worn but also felt – an expression of individuality and joie de vivre.
